American Family Kenpo Karate is one of San Diego’s longest-standing karate schools, established in 1996, with roots dating back over 20 years in Lemon Grove, CA. We are dedicated to teaching real self-defense—not just punching, kicking, or ground fighting.

Our mission is to empower students of all ages—men, women, and children as young as four—by building confidence, discipline, and self-awareness. Led by 10th Degree Grandmaster Gary L. Wilson, our no-nonsense approach focuses on staying on your feet, effective striking, and handling mass attacks. We are committed to teaching practical, proven techniques that work in real-world situations.
